The Lake Placid Film Festival is proud to celebrate the community of film industry amateurs, professionals and just plain movie buffs, with award winning shorts screenings, cutting edge feature length films, educational seminars, mixers, receptions, tributes, directors, producers; and you: all wrapped in the mystical, magical village of Lake Placid, NY. “Your Shorts are Showing”
Short Film Competition
We are accepting submissions to our 2021 film competition, “Your Shorts are Showing,” with awards in 4 categories: Comedy, Drama, Documentary, and Animation. All films must be between 2 and 15 minutes. All filmmakers receive a Full Festival Pass for the weekend. Extended deadline is September 30th. Tribute Dinner for Raoul Peck
Raoul Peck, Emmy award winner and Academy Award nominee, is a Haitian filmmaker of both documentary and feature films. He is known for using historical, political, and personal characters to tackle and recount societal issues and historical events. We will honor him on Friday evening.
“ Women in Comedy” Panel & Mixer
Saturday afternoon, the Upstate NY WIFT and NYC WIFT will host a panel discussion with a mixer immediately following.
